Security in e-banking
Your security is our top priority. Our systems meet the highest requirements so we can ensure that your data is protected when you use e-banking. You can also take your own action to help with this by following the security tips and measures for using the LLB Banking app and LLB online banking that are provided below.
Important security information
All it takes to increase your security are a few simple measures.
General security information
A multi-level login protects your e-banking access from unauthorised access by third parties. Keep the following details secret and do not pass them on:
- Your personal user ID
- Your personal password
Never open LLB online banking or the LLB Banking app via a link from a sender you don’t trust.
Security information for mobile devices
- Activate device protection using biometrics or a code and turn on the "automatic block" on your mobile device.
- Only enable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth if required and avoid public Wi-Fi networks.
- Keep the software of your mobile device up to date.
- Don’t leave your mobile device unattended and do not pass it on without deleting all of the data stored on it.
PSD2
LLB online banking and the LLB Banking app comply with the requirements of the European Payment Services Directive (PSD2) for secure, digital payment transactions.
In addition to your password, you can also use your biometric features (fingerprint, facial recognition).
The LLB Banking app, which is specifically registered to you, serves as a secure anchor and a second factor for login, payment approvals and other transactions.
Small amounts (less than CHF 500) can easily be transferred directly from the app. Recurring / similar payments to known recipients are checked by a special anti-fraud system.
Security settings
- Manage geo-blocking for your debit card
Block certain regions for card payments to increase your security.
- Adjust approval requirement
Activate the item "Approval always required" in the user menu/payments where it states the amount limit. This means that every payment must be specifically approved.
- Set up push notifications
Set up push notifications so you can be informed about movements in your account and custody account.
Technology
- Use current browsers and operating systems
Please ensure that your browser and operating system are up to the latest security standards. Install manufacturer updates as well.
- Use antivirus software and firewalls
Using a firewall protects your computer from hackers and computer viruses trying to access your computer over the Internet. Use anti-virus software and keep it up to date.
Behavour
- Prevent technical attacks
Act with caution if you receive a surprise phone call, e-mail or message. Do not open any documents you are not expecting. Don’t answer any questions about your bank account if you’re not sure whether you’re actually talking to your bank.
- Identify fraud attempts
Watch out for unusual notifications or requests to install software or upload information. Read the transaction details in the photoTAN app or LLB Banking app. In case of uncertainty, cancel the process and contact our "Direct Service" advisory centre.
- Check that you have a secure connection
Please make sure you only communicate with us via a secure connection. You can see if you have a secure connection by checking for a closed padlock in the address bar of your browser.
Access
- Enter Internet address manually
Enter the https://llb.li address manually when logging in. Never follow links in e-mails or on other websites that supposedly forward you to LLB’s online banking.
- Protect log-in details
Don’t note down your passwords. Remember your log-in details. Do not carelessly reveal your security details. LLB will never e-mail its clients or otherwise contact them to request them to reveal their security details.
- Log out correctly
Please log out correctly using the user menu and “Log out” button in your online banking session. Doing it this way will prevent you from accidentally leaving a session open and it then being used by other people.
